LA City Council plans to review its charter for the first time in over 20 years and intends to create an appointed commission of thirteen to work on the new charter. Public Democracy Los Angeles have been urging City Council to establish a Supplemental Civic Assembly to support the charter reform commission’s work.

Mike Draskovich and Joe Matthews presented an overview on the operation of deliberative assemblies and their history, as well as past efforts to reform Los Angeles governance.
